Yuyao Wang is a soprano completing her Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of Huddersfield (Class of 2025), under the guidance of Professor Bibi Heal. With extensive vocal training spanning programs at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Beijing Normal University, she is preparing to advance her studies in classical vocal performance. Currently awaiting the final decision from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama for her MMus Performance (2025 entry), Yuyao has also received postgraduate offers from the University of York, Durham University, the University of Sheffield, and the University of Southampton. A Second Prize winner at the 11th Tchaikovsky International Youth Music Competition (2019), she now focuses on refining her interpretation of German Lieder (Schubert, Schumann), French vocal repertoire (Fauré), Italian opera (Mozart, Handel), and British art song (Quilter,Bridge), while exploring connections between Western techniques and Chinese art song traditions.
